African sweet potato soup

This evening we are beginning our first course with an African Sweet Potato Soup. This dish draws influences from North and West African cuisine. Based on the region it is being prepared, it will likely be served differently. For example, in West Africa the soup is served with peanuts and in North Africa lentils, chickpeas, and spices are typically added.
