What is ZLT?

ZLT Hope Homes aims to break the cycle of generational trauma by providing holistic healing and safe shelter to children, youth, and vulnerable single parents in Nairobi, Kenya.

The organization provides safe shelter, a nutritious diet, quality education, psychosocial support services, care and support to children and youth affected by abuse and abandonment, carries out GBV and child abuse advocacy, and facilitates community education on reproductive health rights while providing access to maternal health care and support services.

Our History

ZLT Hope Homes began in 2013 with humble beginnings, offering safe shelter and quality education to children and youth affected by the orphan crisis. Since then, ZLT expanded to provide safe housing and psychosocial support to children and youth affected by, or vulnerable to, sexual violence and physical assault. To date, the organization has provided a safe and loving home to 30+ children and youth affected by abuse and abandonment.

In 2021, the organization grew to provide economic empowerment programs, educational scholarships to vulnerable children and youth in the community, expanded the pre-existing income generation program ethically employing artisans. In 2022, ZLT will launch community advocacy and education programming as well as a birth workers program to enhance maternal health outcomes.
